Moving to Lagos

Three months ago, I moved to Nigeria to join Skipper Eye-Q and help drive our mission of expanding access to quality eye care. It's been a whirlwind of learning, unlearning, and growing every single day.

It's hard to put into words what staying alone and working in Nigeria has meant so far, but I am excited to document my journey here. Nigeria is vibrant, dynamic, and full of complexities. The problems are real, but the potential is enormous. What makes it exciting is that every day is different, helping me learn at an accelerated pace.

Grateful to be mentored by Ajay Chaudhary whose clarity and leadership have been a guiding force in navigating through these unfamiliar waters, along with the incredible support by the core team at Eye-Q Vision Pvt Ltd.

While looking at the big picture is important, it is also equally important to stay close to the ground, and I've been focusing on just that. Shadowing teams, understanding operations, asking (a lot of) questions. It is important to dive deep and I've been lucky enough to learn from who are the experts in their fields.

On a personal note, stepping into a business my father has built over decades is both a humbling and daunting experience. It is something that holds a quiet kind of weight, but is also a unique privilege to contribute to a legacy while shaping what comes next. His constant guidance and mentorship is something I truly value, and it's an honor to work with someone like him, while having the freedom to explore where I can contribute the most.

More exciting updates coming soon, this is just the beginning!
